Delhi University Distance Education Courses Admission Started

This time, varsity administrators announced that the registration and admissions procedure will be conducted entirely online.

In an effort to provide students with career-focused programmes, the Delhi University Distance Education Courses on Monday introduced six new courses at the School of Open Learning (SoL), including the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

On May 5, 1962, the Delhi University Distance Education of Delhi created the School of Open Learning, which is a component of the Campus of Open Learning. Students from all across the nation can attend the institute for open and online education.

Vice-chancellor of Delhi University Yogesh Singh announced the new courses during a news conference, noting that it had been 28 years since the institution had added new programmes.

“SoL is currently in its 60th year of establishment. In the past 28 years, no new courses were launched at SoL… Last year, we decided that it was important to introduce new courses in tandem with the changing times so that students find the courses useful,” Singh said, including that for the implementation of the courses, the institution had gotten the required authorization from the statutory organisations.

“We are launching six new courses in SoL. The first course in Master of Business Administration. The other courses are Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Arts-Economics (Hons), Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences, Masters of Library and Information Sciences,” Singh said.

Over 500,000 students join at SoL each year, according to Payal Mago, director of the campus of open learning, necessitating the addition of more career-focused courses.

“Around 550,000 students graduate from SoL every year. We had continued with traditional courses for the past many years but the vice-chancellor suggested that it was important for us to launch job-oriented courses at the Campus of Open Learning. We are introducing courses that will benefit students wishing to pursue MBA, BBA, and economics, besides other flagship courses,” said Mago.

Over 500,000 students join at SoL each year, according to Payal Mago, director of the campus of open learning, necessitating the addition of more career-focused courses.

Except for the MBA, all five of the new courses have an unlimited number of seats, according to Mago. There have been authorised 20,000 places for MBA programmes, and admission will be based on merit. The Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF)-2022 under NEP-2020 would be followed for admission to all SoL courses, she noted, and the specifics of the admissions procedure will be released by the end of this week. This time, varsity administrators announced that the registration and admissions procedure will be conducted entirely online.
