AI Cybersecurity Hackathon: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has collaborated with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) and Amazon to launch ‘Raksham’, a national-level AI cybersecurity hackathon.

IIT Delhi’s student technical clubs, ‘Aries IITD’ and ‘Dev Club’, will host this hackathon. The institution is calling on student innovators nationwide to build next-generation, AI-powered prototypes that can combat severe cyber threats like voice-cloning scams, deepfakes, and online fraud.

Online registrations and concept submissions for ‘Raksham’ are now open, and entries will be accepted through October 12. Engineering students in undergraduate and postgraduate programs may participate in teams of two to four.

According to IIT Delhi, participating teams will compete to develop solutions. These solutions will be evaluated based on technical architecture, real-world feasibility, responsible AI practices, and, most importantly, their potential to be transformed into tools that can protect millions of Indians from the rising tide of cyber scams and fraud.

After that, the top 30 teams will take part in a 48-hour on-site finale at IIT Delhi on October 24-25. There, they will need to build, test, and present their prototypes to an expert jury made up of academics, industry professionals, and cybersecurity experts.

The institute announced that the winning teams and creators of impactful solutions will also receive a platform to exhibit their work at ‘Amazon Sambhav 2026’. They mentioned that holding the national hackathon ‘Raksham’ right before the festive shopping rush is strategic, as the surge in digital traffic and consumer transactions during this time provides fertile ground for scammers. IIT Delhi also stated that this initiative further strengthens the ongoing collaboration between partners, I4C and Amazon, under the #ScamSmartIndia campaign.
