2-Year EMBA: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) announced today the launch of a two-year Executive MBA program at its Dubai campus. With this move, the institute is expanding its program portfolio in the UAE and targeting senior professionals working in India and the Gulf region.
This program marks the third offering from IIMA’s Dubai campus. It is designed for working professionals who want to develop leadership and strategic management skills without taking a career break.
The EMBA (Executive MBA) program will be completed over six terms. It includes in-person weekend classes, a seven-day residency at IIMA’s Ahmedabad campus, and an international immersion component. Participants will also undertake an executive capstone project under faculty supervision, focusing on real-world business challenges.

The program is being launched at a time when businesses in the Gulf region are rapidly adapting to the impact of artificial intelligence and the evolving needs of the workforce. According to the World Economic Forum, 41 percent of the core skills required by the workforce in the UAE are expected to change by 2030.
Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, said, “Today, professionals are expected to lead with strategic depth and a global perspective; yet, most learning models are not designed for individuals who are already shouldering such responsibilities.”
He noted that this program is tailored for professionals operating in the markets of India and the Gulf countries, where businesses are becoming increasingly interconnected.
Graduates of this program will gain access to IIMA’s alumni network. This network comprises professionals from diverse industries and sectors, with active alumni chapters in the UAE, India, and other international locations.
IIMA stated that the ed-tech company ‘Emeritus’ will handle awareness and outreach for the program, while the institute’s Dubai campus will oversee academic delivery and faculty-related operations. The institute currently runs a one-year MBA and a General Management program at its Dubai campus.
Eligibility Applications for the EMBA (Executive MBA) are now open. Applicants must possess at least six years of post-graduation work experience, including a minimum of three years in a managerial or leadership role. As part of the admission process, candidates are required to submit scores from the IIMA Admission Test, GMAT Focus, Executive Assessment, or GRE.
