NEET Exam 2022 NOT Postponed, Delhi HC Dismisses Petition to Postpone NEET UG Exam, says ‘No Merit in Plea.’

The judge referred to it as a "misconceived" plea, which means that it was completely incorrect. "Had it been anybody else, the court would have dismissed the case with severe costs," Justice Sanjeev Narula said.

There will be no delay in conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET Exam 2022) in 2022. After hearing the petition that asked for the admission exam for medical college to be postponed by three to four weeks, the High Court in Delhi stated that there was no basis for the petition and rejected it. “The petition is completely devoid of any and all merit… In the event that such petitions are presented to the court, the judge will not hesitate to impose costs.

The judge referred to it as a “misconceived” plea, which means that it was completely incorrect. “Had it been anybody else, the court would have dismissed the case with severe costs,” Justice Sanjeev Narula said. In addition, the high court stated that it will not hesitate to levy fees in the event that similar cases are brought before it in the future.

The petitioners’ sudden approach to the court was also questioned by the judge.

The petition was submitted by 15 candidates hailing from different parts of the country. Justice Sanjeev Narula listened to the argument that was being made. More than 18.72 lakh students have signed up to take the examination, which is scheduled to take place on July 17 of this year.

During the process of the attorney’s argument, the judge was informed by the attorney that “the time schedules had been disrupted due to Covid.” We aim to condense it this year in order to have it back on track by the year 2023.”

Students had asked for a postponement, citing that there had been natural disasters around the country, including floods in various regions. In addition, the petitioners claimed that there was little time to study for NEET because there is a very small gap between CUET, NEET, and JEE examinations, as well as board exams.

According to the aspirants, this has resulted in “mental stress and harassment,” which has led to the deaths of 16 young students who committed themselves. In addition, the petition claimed that this year, the notification for NEET (UG) was released just around just 100 days before the exam and that the examination schedule is inappropriate and arbitrary.
