NEET UG 2026: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the preparation for the NEET-UG 2026 re-test, scheduled for June 21, after visiting the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters in Delhi. He assessed the state of preparedness and discussed the exam arrangements, placing special emphasis on confidentiality and inter-departmental coordination.
This review was conducted amidst the implementation of stringent administrative measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination process, with a focus on security, timely logistics, and cooperation among various agencies.
Focus on Confidentiality and Exam Security
According to ANI, Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the NEET exam is scheduled for June 21 and noted that he visited the NTA headquarters to take stock of the preparations. He emphasised that “we have placed special emphasis on maintaining strict confidentiality throughout the entire process,” covering all stages, from the preparation of question papers to the subsequent handling of materials and their delivery to exam centers.
He mentioned that close coordination is being maintained with all involved departments and referred to a meeting of secretaries from relevant departments, chaired by the Cabinet Secretary. He also noted that he had written to the Chief Ministers of all states urging them to “pay extra attention this time,” while acknowledging the cooperation received previously.

Dharmendra Pradhan further stated that in the coming days, the Union Home Secretary would hold a high-level meeting on related issues, with all Government of India agencies playing their respective roles.
The Minister informed that several new officials have been inducted to strengthen the organizational structure handling the exam preparations. He stated that new responsibilities have been assigned to officials, including Joint Secretaries and Directors, ensuring the involvement of both experienced and new personnel in the process.
According to ANI, he said, “Everyone, whether they have prior experience here or are new, has been assigned specific responsibilities” to ensure smooth execution and effective monitoring of the work. Cybersecurity and Inter-agency Coordination Pradhan also emphasised that cybersecurity resources are being mobilised to tackle potential threats, involving collaboration with intelligence and investigative agencies.
He stated that efforts are underway to leverage the resources of the Intelligence Bureau and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to strengthen the security of the examination system. Expressing confidence in the preparedness of the team managing the examination process, he affirmed that all necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination in a secure and orderly manner.
