IIT Madras Placements 2022: Record High Pre-Placement Offers to Students, Phase 1 Placements from December 1, 2022
As many as 333 PPOs (as on November 13, 2022) have been made to IIT Madras students during the 2022-23 Academic Year, as against 231 offers during the entire 2021-22
IIT Madras Placements 2022: There has been a significant increase in offers during pre-placements for IIT Madras students during the academic year 2022-23. As a result of a robust summer internship programme, which was conducted completely offline, the institute was able to connect students with industry and raise Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).
As many as 333 PPOs (as on November 13, 2022) have been made to IIT Madras students during the 2022-23 Academic Year, as against 231 offers during the entire 2021-22 .
This year, 44 per cent students have received pre-placement offers (PPOs) in core and R&D, 30 per cent in analytics/ consulting/ finance, 16 per cent in the IT sector and 10 per cent in FMCG. The major recruiters are Qualcomm, Honeywell, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Texas Instruments and Oracle.
Campus Placements are scheduled to begin on December 1, 2022, and PPOs will continue to be made until then.

The institute believes that the main reason behind the strong performance in pre-placement process is “strong internship programme of the institute.” This process facilitates students to intern in companies and leads to PPOs. The constant increase in PPOs is the result of excellent performance of students during their internships, as per a release by the IIT-Madras.
