The Department of Psychology at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has introduced an Advanced Diploma program in Child Guidance and Counselling. This course has two semesters and is accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

This initiative was backed and guided by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mazhar Asif. Furthermore, the Registrar of Jamia, Prof. Mohammad Mehtab Alam Rizvi, provided complete assistance and support in the accreditation process as well as in organising the orientation program.

Jamia Millia Islamia: Orientation Program

Inaugurating the orientation program, Prof. Rizvi commended the department for its hard work and commitment to achieving the rigorous accreditation and organising the program. He stressed that faith is an important component of mental health and that maintaining faith in higher powers can help reduce anxiety and stress.

He extended his congratulations to the Head of the Department, Prof. Samina Bano, and the Diploma Coordinator, Prof. Sheema Aleem, for their committed efforts and assured them of the administration’s complete support.

Prof. Mohammad, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Muslim Khan, provided an intriguing summary of the extensive history of Jamia Millia Islamia and extended his best wishes to the department for the successful completion of the course.
