UP Board Class 12th English Exam has been Canceled in 24 districts due to paper leak.

The Uttar Pradesh Board's Class 12 English exam was canceled in 24 districts of the state after officials said they suspected the question paper had been leaked.

In a statement issued by Vinay Kumar Pandey, Director, UP Board Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, it has been said that the examination has been canceled in 24 districts of the state including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh and Gorakhpur. “The test of English in the second shift is being canceled on suspicion of disclosing the question paper. In 24 districts, the same was distributed and hence the examination there was cancelled,” the statement said.

The statement said that the paper was leaked in Ballia district.

It has been said that the examination in the remaining districts will be as per the schedule. “The date for conducting the examination in 24 districts will be announced soon,” the statement said. After a gap of two years due to Covid -19, the examinations of class X and XII started for the Uttar Pradesh Board on Thursday. Heavy security and extensive preparations were put in place to control cheating and use of unfair means.

A total of 2.97 lakh CCTV cameras were installed to prevent cheating in the examinations. “The feeds from these cameras are being monitored at 8,373 examination centers in district-level control rooms,” an official said.

The state government had said that strict National Security Act (NSA) will be invoked against those who use unfair means during the examination. A total of 51.92 lakh students are appearing in the examination.

The exam will run till April 12 and will be conducted in two shifts from 8 am to 11.15 am and 2 pm to 5.15 pm.
