Indian Embassy in Ukraine Advises Indian Students to Leave Temporarily due to uncertainties.

According to an official document in 2020, Ukraine had a small but vibrant Indian community and about 18,000 Indian students were studying in Ukraine.

India advised its citizens in Ukraine to temporarily leave the country amid escalating tensions between Moscow and NATO countries over Russia’s growing military build-up near Ukraine’s border. In an advisory, the Indian Embassy in Kiev asked Indian nationals to temporarily leave the country aavoid all non-essential travel to and from Ukraine.

“Given the uncertainties of the current situation in Ukraine, Indian citizens in Ukraine, especially students whose stay is not essential, may consider temporarily leaving,” it said. “Indian nationals are also advised to avoid all non-essential travel within and within Ukraine,” the embassy said.
