MHT-CET 2022 for Engineering Admission Postponed due to Exam Date Conflict with JEE Main and NEET.

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) for engineering admissions in the state has been postponed till August. New dates will be announced soon. Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant made this announcement on Thursday.

Tweeting about it from his official handle, the minister said, “Due to JEE and NEET, MHT-CET has been postponed till August.”

Earlier Maharashtra CET was scheduled to be conducted in the testing window of June 11 to 28, 2022. As per the revised schedule of JEE-Main, it will be conducted from June 20 to 29, 2022. It was earlier scheduled to be held in the month of May. NEET 2022 will be conducted in July.

As per the information provided by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, the CET dates were already announced, however with the JEE postponed, there were some overlapping days after which students were urged to postpone the CET.

Maharashtra CET cell commissioner RS ​​Jagtap shared, “The new dates will be announced soon.” Only engineering CET has been postponed while all other CETs will be conducted as per the schedule announced earlier.

MHT CET is conducted for the students seeking admission into BE, BTech, BPharm or DPharm courses. The examination is held in groups- Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). The CET paper will be based on the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education syllabus.

The 80 percent of syllabus will be based on Class 12 and the remaining percentage of the syllabus will be based on Class 11 Maharashtra board.

There are more than 400 institutes in Maharashtra which accept MHT CET scores for admission to their various Engineering and Pharmacy courses. Candidates belonging to Maharashtra as well as from the other states of India can apply for the MHT CET exam.
