XLRI Delhi NCR’s New PGDM Batch Comprises 30.7% Women, With a Significant Increase in the Enrollment of Non-Engineers.

XLRI Delhi: 210 students have been admitted to PG Diploma in Business Management program of XLRI Delhi-NCR. According to a statement from the institute, in a notable change, the participation of female students has increased by 25 per cent compared to the previous batch, constituting a significant 30.7 per cent of the new cohort.
Another notable trend, the institute said, is the balance between engineers and non-engineers within the batch. While the proportion of engineers is still slightly high, i.e. 51.3 per cent, the data suggests a gradual decline in the proportion of engineering graduates over the last four years. In contrast, non-engineers have seen steady growth, making up 48.7 percent of the current group. This shift underlines a broader trend of diversification in academic backgrounds, enriching the learning environment with multiple perspectives and expertise.
Between 2021 and 2024, the proportion of students from non-engineering backgrounds was 35.6% in 2021, 30% in 2022, 37.7% in 2023, and 48.7% in 2024, while the proportion of students from engineering backgrounds was 64.4% in 2021, 70% in 2022. 62.3% in 2023. In 2024 it is 51.3%.
Upon examining the work experience data, the XLRI 2024-26 batch reflects a diverse range of professional backgrounds. A significant portion (33.51 percent) consists of fresh graduates, while others bring varying degrees of work experience, with approximately 40 percent having professional association of more than one year. Twenty-five percent of students have more than two years of experience, which represents a significant portion of the student population.
Dr KS Casimir, Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR, emphasized the diverse range of backgrounds and experiences of the incoming class, which highlights the institute’s commitment to both diversity and academic excellence. The huge increase in female representation reflects our commitment towards gender inclusion in higher education. Furthermore, the balanced mix of academic backgrounds, including engineers and non-engineers, represents a dynamic learning environment rich in diverse perspectives.

XLRI offers expertise in seven branches – Economics, Environmental Society and Governance (ESG), Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Production, Operations and Decision Sciences and Strategy. XLRI said, a student can only select a maximum of two areas for concentration.
