Union Public Service Commission Launched New Portal for Exam Registration

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday launched a new portal and applicants will now have the option to use Aadhaar authentication for registration. Including the option of Aadhaar verification and authentication, the UPSC said: “Applicants are strongly advised to use their Aadhaar card as the ID document for easy, simple and seamless verification and authentication of the ID and other details in the universal application, after which it serves as a permanent and common record for all examinations.”
Apart from the identity profile, applicants will have to submit either Aadhaar or any other valid photo identity document, it said. The instructions given to applicants said, “You are advised to use Aadhaar as your identity document for quick confirmation and easy access to the examination centre and verification process.” Applicants will have to upload documents in the new portal, the Union Public Service Commission said, adding that the old one-time registration module will no longer be applicable.
