The New Session for Semesters 5 to 8 at Delhi University New Delhi will begin on July 20, calendar Released

The academic calendar for the relevant undergraduate and graduate courses’ fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth semesters for the academic year 2022–2023 has been made public by Delhi University (DU). According to the calendar, the fifth and seventh semesters’ academic sessions will start on July 20, while the sixth and eighth semesters’ classes will start on January 2, 2023.

The official notice from Delhi University (DU), released on June 22, states that the break for the fifth and seventh semester theory exams would be from October 2 to October 9. The practical tests will start on November 16, and the theory exams will begin on November 30. The winter vacation will occur from December 17 to December 31.

For sixth and seventh-semester students, classes will start on January 2 of the following year, and the mid-semester break will be from March 5 to March 12. According to the announcement, the preparation leave and practical examinations will start on May 1, and the theory exams will start on May 11 after that. The 2023 summer vacation will run from May 27 through July 19.

On February 17, Delhi University resumed regular sessions after being closed for two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Third-year students’ offline classes had resumed last year, but the university was once again closed due to the increase in Covid cases in December.

In the meantime, according to news agency PTI, DU had earlier requested that the deans of faculties from various departments submit the first and second semester schedules for the Four Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) by June 10. By July, the varsity hopes to complete the syllabus for the FYUP’s first two semesters. It has previously approved the implementation of the FYUP for the academic year 2022–2023 and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2022.

The draught Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) was approved by the varsity’s Executive Council (EC) in February of this year. It was created in accordance with the NEP for the academic year 2022–2023.
