“My evaluation is proceeding excellently, even better than the previous evaluation,” said Bhardwaj. He emphasised that the Board takes “pride” in having implemented the OSM system on a full scale this year. This digital evaluation system, introduced with the aim of streamlining the assessment process and minimising human error, marks a significant shift away from traditional paper-based evaluation methods.

Dismissing concerns raised in some media reports, he said, “I reject everything stated in certain media news portals. These claims are false, and everything is absolutely fine. We take great pride in having initiated this process.”

Bharadwaj also pointed to the positive feedback received from evaluators across various centres, indicating that the new system is being widely accepted. He stated, “They are thanking us by sending selfies, photographs, and messages; they say that they consider themselves fortunate to be working with this system.” According to him, the response has been so encouraging that even those teachers who were not assigned evaluation duties have expressed their interest in becoming a part of this process.

CBSE had already indicated that this shift towards on-screen evaluation was undertaken to enhance efficiency, minimise delays, and ensure greater uniformity in the determination of marks. This system facilitates evaluators in digitally assessing scanned answer sheets, thereby accelerating the compilation of marks and reducing the logistical challenges associated with the physical movement of answer sheets.

Regarding the progress of the evaluation, Bhardwaj stated that it is proceeding “as per the scheduled timeline,” indicating that despite the adoption of the new system, the established deadlines remain unaffected. When asked about the declaration of results, he reiterated the board’s earlier timeline, stating that students can expect results in the third week of May. “The results will be declared when they are prepared. People should wait till then,” he said.
