The Bihar Public Service Commission (a government body in the state of Bihar) has postponed the Integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination 2026. According to a notice issued by the Commission, the preliminary exam, originally scheduled for July 26, 2026 (Sunday), will not be held on the announced date due to ‘unavoidable reasons’.
Bihar PSC Official Notice States
“The Integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, scheduled for July 26, 2026, has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The new date for the examination will be announced by the Commission soon.”
The postponement notice, issued by the BPSC Controller of Examinations, is available on the Commission’s official website. Candidates are advised to regularly check the BPSC portal for information regarding the new exam date, admit card updates, and other instructions.
Earlier this month, the BPSC had announced that the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination would be conducted in a single shift at exam centers across Bihar on July 26. However, with the latest notification, that schedule has been cancelled, and candidates must await the revised schedule from the Commission.
The BPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is the state’s civil services recruitment exam conducted to fill vacancies across various departments of the Bihar government. The 72nd recruitment cycle is being conducted for 1,186 vacancies across various administrative services.
Through this examination, candidates are recruited for positions such as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Rural Development Officer, Revenue Officer, Block Panchayat Raj Officer, and various other Group A and Group B administrative posts. The selection process comprises a preliminary examination, a main examination, and an interview.
