AIIMS Rewari Gets Approval: Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh stated that the process to launch a medical college at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), currently under construction in Majra, Rewari, has officially begun. The Union Ministry of Health has granted approval for 50 MBBS seats for the 2026-27 academic session.

Citing a letter issued on March 23 by an Under Secretary at the Union Health Ministry, Singh noted that this approval grants permission to commence the MBBS course at AIIMS Rewari. Starting from the 2026-27 academic year, admissions will initially be offered for 50 seats annually. “With this approval, the AIIMS Rewari can soon launch its medical courses and OPD services,” Singh said.

He further added that advertisements for administrative positions at the institute have already been released, and the recruitment process for other posts is currently underway. In total, over 1,700 officers and staff members are to be recruited.

In a statement, Singh mentioned that approval from the Union Ministry of Finance is still pending for certain positions, though it is expected to be received shortly. He noted that a proposal regarding the filling of technical and non-technical posts has been forwarded by the Union Health Secretary to the Department of Expenditure.

Singh pointed out that the appointment of doctors is essential for launching OPD services at AIIMS Rewari, adding that steps are being taken to expedite this process. According to officials, the upcoming AIIMS Rewari campus will feature a 750-bed hospital and an OPD facility capable of treating 1,500 patients daily.

The campus complex will also house a 100-seat medical college, 25 super-specialty departments, and a nursing college. Furthermore, in addition to facilities such as private wards, trauma beds, and AYUSH beds, there are plans to construct a night shelter, a guest house, a 1,000-seat auditorium, a hostel, and a residential complex.
