UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025: Aspirants Claims and Counterclaims

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Akanksha, the granddaughter of Brahmeshwar Singh, claimed that she secured the 301st rank in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 in her second attempt. In a video interview widely shared on social media, she said, “I was confident of getting the result this time. It was my grandfather’s dream. He had a lot of faith in me.” Akanksha said she studied 8-10 hours a day during her preparation.

She said, “I studied 8-10 hours a day. My parents played a huge role in my success. Last year, when I failed to clear the exam, they continued to support me without any frustration or anger.”

Meanwhile, another Akanksha Singh from Ghazipur posted on Facebook, alleging that the result was fake. She wrote, “It has come to light that my rank and identity are being forged by others,” attaching two documents she claimed were her original ID and the e-summons to the Facebook post.

In a video, Akanksha from Ghazipur said, “I am a gynaecologist (A gynaecologist is a medical doctor who specialises in the female reproductive system) by profession, currently practising at Patna All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). I have come to know that another girl is claiming to have secured the 301st rank. This video is only for clarification. If someone scans the QR code on both admit cards, the matter will become very clear.” She claimed that she had appeared in all three exams, Prelims, Mains, and PT, with the same roll number. She said, “I am confident of this and, at the same time, I am very happy that my name has appeared in the list.”

Akanksha from Arrah (Bihar) then reiterated her claims, saying that she has all the documents to prove that she is the candidate who passed the exam. She also showed an admit card and claimed that she had sent an email to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) regarding her e-summons. In the admit card obtained by scanning the QR code, the roll number associated with the 301st rank allegedly matched the candidate from Ghazipur, not the girl from Ara.
