AIIMS Delhi Issues Social Media Guidelines: Students at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, will no longer be permitted to use the institute’s name, logo, emblem, or branding on digital platforms without authorisation. In a recently issued notification, the institute laid down specific guidelines regarding social media usage. Under these rules, students, resident doctors, faculty members, and staff are prohibited from using the name “AIIMS, New Delhi,” or the institute’s logo, emblem, or official branding in any digital or print content without obtaining prior written approval.
According to the institute, the objective of these rules (Social Media Guidelines) is to prevent the misuse of the institute’s identity, protect patient privacy, and foster responsible communication on social media platforms.

To Whom do the New Rules Apply?
These rules are comprehensive and apply to virtually everyone associated with AIIMS Delhi. This includes undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral students; resident doctors and super-speciality trainees; and faculty members, researchers, and administrative staff. Student organisations such as the Academic Society Association (ASA), Resident Doctors Association (RDA), and Student Union Bodies (SYS) also fall within the ambit of these regulations.
The rules (Social Media Guidelines) also extend to departments, centres, and institutional entities that operate official communication channels, as well as third-party collaborators granted access to AIIMS-managed platforms.
