Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: The Azim Premji Foundation has opened applications for the Azim Premji Scholarship 2026-27. This time, the scope of the scholarship has been expanded to include two additional regions. Students enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma program can apply for financial assistance of ₹30,000 per year under this scholarship. For the 2026-27 batch, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT) have also been added to the list of eligible states and union territories.

The objective of this Azim Premji Scholarship 2026 is to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing college education. The Foundation provides ₹30,000 annually for the entire duration of the student’s first undergraduate degree or diploma course. These courses may range from two to five years in duration. This means a student could receive up to ₹1.5 lakh over the course of the program. According to the Azim Premji Foundation, merit, caste, income, or religion are not considered when awarding this scholarship.

The first round of applications for the 2026 batch began on August 10 and will remain open until August 31, 2026. The Foundation has also announced that the second round of applications will take place from January 10 to January 31, 2027. Scholarship renewal for students from the 2024 and 2025 batches for the 2026-27 academic year will commence in September 2026.

Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: Who can apply?

This scholarship is exclusively for female students. To apply for the 2026-27 batch, the student must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student from a government school or college located in one of the eligible states or union territories specified on the website.

The student must also have secured admission to the first year of a recognized undergraduate degree or diploma program for the 2026-27 academic session. The course must be a regular program with a duration of two to five years, conducted by a government institution or a credible, legitimate private college or university anywhere in India. This must be the student’s first undergraduate degree or diploma following Class 12.

Students already pursuing the second, third, fourth, or fifth year of an undergraduate program cannot apply as new applicants. Students enrolled in distance-learning programs are also ineligible. The Foundation has clarified that there is no age limit for applying, provided all other eligibility criteria are met.
