Dharmendra-Pradhan inaugurates India’s Second National Model Vedic School in Puri
“Feel fortunate to inaugurate this institute, which is also called the Shree Jagannath Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya. The objective of this institute is to conserve knowledge of the Vedas and spread it among people,” Pradhan said.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra-Pradhan on Tuesday opens the second Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya (RAVV) in the nation in Puri with the intention of educating people about the Vedas.
On the Central Sanskrit University campus, the RAVV or National Model Vedic School has emerged. In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan is the first institution of its kind.
“Feel fortunate to inaugurate this institute, which is also called the Shree Jagannath Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya. The objective of this institute is to conserve knowledge of the Vedas and spread it among people,” Pradhan said.
The institute, a residential school where education and lodging will be provided free of cost, will help promote the Sanskrit language as well, he said.
Students will have the option to choose among courses in physics, English, math, Vedic mathematics, social science, computer science, and agriculture in addition to classes on the four Vedas, the Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda.
Admission will be based on merit in ‘Veda Bhusan’ fourth (Class 9), ‘Veda Bhusan’ fifth (Class 10), ‘Veda Vibhusan’ first (Class 11), and ‘Veda Vibhusan’ second (Class 12), officials said.
Courses will start in the academic year 2022–2023.
According to the officials, four more of these schools will open in Badrinath, Uttarakhand; Sringeri, Karnataka; Dwarka, Gujarat; and Guwahati, Assam.
A separate Veda Studies Board has been established, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s request, said Pradhan.
According to the minister Dharmendra-Pradhan, all that is stated in the Vedas are verifiable realities of life, not simply some “mantras.”
“There are remedies for humanism in proper pronunciation of the Vedas,” he said.
