Are NIOS Students Eligible to Appear in NEET UG Exam 2025? NMC Responds

NEET UG Exam 2025: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has responded to an RTI query that asked if National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) students are eligible to appear in NEET UG 2025. In its clarification, the commission has said that NIOS-registered students can appear in NEET UG and are eligible for it.

The RTI clarification from NMC said, “Students are allowed to study one additional subject from NIOS, with the condition that the study should be done from an authorised institution.”

The notice comes after NTA released the NEET UG Exam 2025 information bulletin on the national-level medical exam. “It has come to light that confusion has been created that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET-UG Bulletin 2025, which is not in accordance with the NMC Regulations,” the notification said.
