The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) secured the 21st position in the Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management 2026 ranking. IIM Bangalore (an Institute of National Importance under the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017) improved from 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024.
Other Indian business schools also performed well in the recent global rankings. S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research Mumbai (SPJIMR Mumbai) ranked 26th globally, followed closely by IIM Ahmedabad in 27th place. XLRI Jamshedpur secured the 33rd rank, while IIM Calcutta ranked 39th worldwide.

Indian business schools also made it to the list of the world’s top 100 management schools
Several other Indian business schools also made it to the list of the world’s top 100 management schools. IIM Kozhikode ranked 54th, IIM Indore secured the 62nd rank, and Management Development Institute Gurgaon (MDI Gurgaon) stood at the 67th position. IIM Lucknow ranked 72nd, followed by NMIMS Mumbai at 73rd, IIM Udaipur at 83rd, IMI Delhi at 90th, and T.A. Pai Management Institute at the 98th position.

Switzerland’s University of St. Gallen retained its top position in the FT Masters in Management 2026 rankings
Globally, Switzerland’s University of St. Gallen retained its top position in the FT Masters in Management 2026 rankings. Portugal’s Nova School of Business and Economics secured the second rank, while the Antai College of Economics and Management at China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University took third place.

This latest ranking highlights the growing global recognition of Indian management institutes. In the 2025 edition, IIM Ahmedabad ranked 34th globally, while SPJIMR and IIM Calcutta secured the 35th and 41st positions, respectively. XLRI ranked 58th, IIM Lucknow 57th, IIM Kozhikode 69th, MDI Gurgaon 72nd, IIM Indore 81st, IIM Udaipur 98th, and IMI Delhi 99th.
The FT Masters in Management ranking evaluates business schools based on various criteria, including post-graduation career opportunities, salary growth, value for money, international exposure, student diversity, and sustainability initiatives.
