CBSE Class 12 Students Permitted to Appear for Improvement Exam in One Subject; Supplementary Exam in July

This year, a total of 1,63,800 students in CBSE Class 12 have been placed in the 'Compartment' category. Last year, this figure stood at 129,095 students, while in 2024, it was 122,170.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exams 2026: Following the declaration of Class 12 results for the 2025-2026 academic session, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule for the supplementary exam. The supplementary exams will be conducted on a single day, July 15, 2026.

This year, a total of 1,63,800 students in CBSE Class 12 have been placed in the ‘Compartment’ category. Last year, this figure stood at 129,095 students, while in 2024, it was 122,170. Furthermore, students who have already passed the CBSE Class 12 examinations but wish to improve their scores in a specific subject are also eligible to apply for the supplementary exams.

For eligible students, the online submission process for the ‘List of Candidates’ (LOC) will commence on June 2, 2026. CBSE has emphasised that the LOC must be filled out exclusively online, and once submitted, no modifications, such as adding or removing subjects or names, will be permitted.
