BPSC TRE 4.0: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has delayed the start of the online application process for the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) 4.0. This examination aims to fill 32,388 teacher vacancies in government schools across the state. The application process was scheduled to begin on September 1; however, the Commission has postponed it due to “administrative reasons.” A new schedule for registration and application submission will be released soon.
This recruitment drive, conducted under Advertisement No. 14/2026, covers teaching positions for classes 1 through 12. The vacancies include posts for primary teachers (Classes 1-5), middle school teachers (Classes 6-8), secondary teachers (Classes 9-10), and senior secondary teachers (Classes 11-12). Of the total 32,388 posts, 3,847 are for primary teachers, 8,563 for middle school teachers, 3,877 for secondary teachers, and 16,101 for senior secondary teachers.
This delay comes amidst protests by aspiring teachers regarding various aspects of the recruitment process, such as the exam pattern and negative marking. Following discussions with the protesting candidates, the Bihar government had recently agreed to conduct BPSC TRE 4.0 in a single phase.
Total Number of Vacancies Under BPSC TRE 4.0 to 33,385
According to reports, the government has also increased the number of vacant music teacher posts by 111, bringing the total number of vacancies under BPSC TRE 4.0 to 33,385. The updated vacancy details are expected to be forwarded to the BPSC for inclusion in the recruitment process. Candidates are advised to wait for the Commission’s new notification before submitting their applications. The previously scheduled date of September 1 should no longer be considered the start date for applications.
