Jio IPO: Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani has described the company’s proposed IPO (Initial Public Offering) as the “biggest step” and a “major responsibility” for Indian shareholders.
While talking to reporters at the India Mobile Congress 2026, Akash Ambani stated that the planned Jio Platforms IPO marks a major milestone for the company, having recently completed a decade in business.
Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani remarked, “This is our biggest milestone as a company.” Highlighting the importance of Jio’s upcoming public listing, Akash mentioned that they approach this proposed offering with immense pride and a profound sense of duty to Indian investors.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Airtel, also welcomed the planned IPO. Answering questions on the topic, Sunil Mittal stated, “Fantastic; we are all looking forward to a highly successful IPO.”
Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani stated that the Reliance Group’s focus on wealth creation for Indian shareholders is rooted in the vision of his grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani. He noted that retail investors have always played a crucial role in the group’s value system, and Jio would continue to uphold this philosophy.
Stating his belief that the JIO IPO public issue will attract domestic and foreign investors alike, Akash Ambani mentioned that the IPO ought not to be treated merely as a phase of listing or capital raising.
“The Jio IPO is just the beginning of the journey,” he said, emphasising that the true responsibility lies in achieving sustained growth and creating long-term value for shareholders.
This planned listing is taking place as Jio moves past basic telecom connectivity to grow into technology-focused operations, featuring artificial intelligence, satellite communications, homegrown network solutions, and next-gen digital services. During IMC 2026, the company displayed various technologies designed to position India as a developer and exporter of digital infrastructure.
The event footage captured Ambani talking about Jio’s homegrown technology with Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. The display included JioAirFiber solutions aimed at delivering ‘last-mile’ Wi-Fi connectivity to rural regions, such as villages without direct access to conventional network infrastructure.
