CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 Exams: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the timetable for the January 2027 Intermediate and Foundation examinations. The CA Intermediate examination will be conducted in two groups. Group 1 papers are scheduled for January 2, 4, and 6, followed by Group 2 exams on January 8, 10, and 12, 2027.
The CA Foundation Exams Will be Held on January 3, 5, 7, and 9.
All Foundation and Intermediate exams will commence at 2:00 PM. Foundation Papers 1 and 2, as well as all Intermediate papers, will be of three hours’ duration, whereas Foundation Papers 3 and 4 will be of two hours.
Except for CA Foundation Papers 3 and 4, an additional 15 minutes of reading time will be provided for all papers from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM.
The January 2027 CA exams will be conducted across 207 cities in India, including Delhi/New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Noida. Exams will also be held at three overseas centers: Bahrain, Dubai, and Kathmandu.
The application window for the ICAI exam will open on November 3. Candidates can submit their forms without a late fee until November 16. Applications submitted between November 17 and November 19 will incur a late fee of ₹600 for Indian and Kathmandu centers and US $10 for overseas centers.
Candidates will also have the opportunity to change their exam city or medium between November 20 and November 22.
The fee for the CA Foundation exam for candidates appearing from Indian centers is ₹1,500. For the Intermediate examination, the fee for one group or unit (excluding Unit 2) is ₹1,500, while the fee for both groups or Unit 2 is ₹2,700.
For candidates appearing at international centers other than Kathmandu, the fee is US $325 for the Foundation exam or one group of the Intermediate exam, and US $500 for both groups of the Intermediate exam. For the Kathmandu center, the fee is ₹2,200 for the Foundation exam or one group of the Intermediate exam, and ₹3,400 for both groups of the Intermediate exam.
Candidates appearing for the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations will be permitted to answer their papers in either English or Hindi. The ICAI stated that candidates must submit their examination applications online via its ‘Self Service Portal’ (SSP).
The Institute also clarified that there will be no change in the examination schedule even if a public holiday is declared on any day of the examination by the central or state governments or local bodies.
