The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the application process for the AICTE-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027 program. This program offers eligible Indian undergraduate students the opportunity to undertake a 12-week research internship at leading Canadian universities.
According to the announcement, eligible students can apply for the Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027 until September 16, 2026. Mitacs has stated that applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Candidates can apply for the program via the official AICTE website – aicte.gov.in.
This initiative has been launched under the AICTE-Mitacs partnership, aiming to expand international research opportunities for Indian students. Under this recently launched internship program, 300 eligible Indian students will receive fully funded internship opportunities annually for three years, starting in 2027.
Under the GRI 2027 program, in-person internships will be conducted for 12 consecutive weeks between May and October 2027, under the supervision of faculty members from participating Canadian academic institutions. The program aims to provide students with comprehensive research experience, opportunities for laboratory work, international mentorship, exposure to a multicultural learning environment, and professional development opportunities.
The GRI 2027 program covers research-oriented disciplines such as science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, life sciences, social sciences, business, arts, and humanities.
