NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam will be Conducted in ‘Pen-and-Paper’ Mode on June 21, 2026
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted in ‘pen-and-paper’ mode on June 21, 2026 (Sunday), from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, at various centers located across India and abroad. This examination will be held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Assamese, Kannada, and Odia.
Fee Refund Process and No Additional Fee for the Re-Examination
The NTA has informed candidates that a separate module for submitting bank account details for the refund of the examination fee will be made available by May 21, 2026. The Nationa Testing Agency (NTA) has also clarified that candidates will not be required to pay any additional fee to appear for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination.
Facility to Update Current Address and Exam City Preference
Candidates who wish to change their preferred examination city due to a change in location or a change in their current address may do so through the official website until 11:50 PM on May 21, 2026.
The NTA has clarified that the allotment of examination centers is based on the city preferences filled by the candidates and the availability of seats. Therefore, the center allotted for the re-examination may differ from the center originally allotted. The NTA also clarified that the allocation of centers is carried out in a random manner, based on the city preferences selected by the candidates.
Medium of Examination to Remain Unchanged
The NTA has clarified that the medium of examination selected during the initial application process will be considered final, and no changes to it can be made at this stage. Responding to complaints regarding the unavailability of options for selecting a city, the agency stated that this issue stems from the specific choice of language medium, as certain mediums are available only in the specific states and locations outlined in the NEET UG 2026 Information Bulletin.
15 Minutes of Additional Time for Verification Formalities
The testing agency has clarified that the additional 15 minutes included in the duration of the examination are allocated for document verification and other pre-examination formalities.
Re-examination Date Will Not Be Changed
Addressing concerns regarding potential date clashes with other examinations, the NTA stated that the date for the re-examination, June 21st, has already been finalized and will not be altered.
Complaints Regarding Previous Examination Centers
Candidates who encountered any difficulties or center-related issues during the examination held on May 3rd are advised to submit their complaints, accompanied by the necessary supporting documents, to the NTA Helpdesk at neetug2026@nta.ac.in.
