NEET-UG Questions Found in ‘Guess Paper’: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan has stated that it is investigating an alleged paper leak linked to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. The SOG has recovered a ‘guess paper’ containing 120 questions that also appeared in the actual examination.

Speaking to reporters in Jaipur, SOG ADGP Vishal Bansal said, “There are several misconceptions surrounding the NEET-UG examination. There is a ‘guess paper’ containing 410 questions. Of those 410 questions, it is alleged that approximately 120 appeared in the Chemistry paper. Furthermore, this guess paper was reportedly in the possession of students weeks or rather, as early as a month before the examination.”

NEET-UG: Source of this Question Paper has not yet Been Identified in the Ongoing Investigation

He also added that the source of this question paper has not yet been identified in the ongoing investigation, noting that it was discovered on the WhatsApp accounts of students who had appeared for the exam. “It is a PDF file spanning approximately 150 pages and containing over 400 questions. We are proceeding step-by-step; this is a laborious and challenging task. All (SOG) officials are fully engaged in this operation.”

He stated that since the document was in the public domain, tracing its source is not an easy task. “For instance, someone might have photocopied it at an ‘e-Mitra’ center; subsequently, the e-Mitra owner might have shared it with someone else, and the chain continued in this manner. Therefore, our investigation is focused on determining whether any cheating occurred or if a criminal offense was committed,” Bansal said, adding that an individual from Dehradun is also being questioned as part of the inquiry.

Nature of a Paper Leak is Clandestine, a Characteristic that does not Appear to Apply in the Present case

Bansal noted that, typically, the nature of a paper leak is clandestine, a characteristic that does not appear to apply in the present case. “If I were to share the question paper in the public domain (acting as the mastermind behind a paper leak), I would personally gain nothing,” he stated, adding that the paper-leak mafia, which “works very hard”, would have already procured the question paper before the examination and, without actually sharing the physical paper with the students, would have made them memorize the questions either the night before the exam or on the morning of the exam.

He affirmed that if any malpractice has indeed occurred in this instance, it will be thoroughly investigated to ensure that such an incident does not recur in the future.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated that it is “committed to conducting fair, secure, and reliable examinations, and will continue to collaborate with all investigative agencies to uphold the integrity of the examination system.”

“The NTA is fully cognizant of the anxiety that such reports can cause among candidates; therefore, we urge candidates to allow the investigative agencies sufficient time and opportunity to complete their work. After consulting the Ministry of Education, we will take all necessary steps at the appropriate time. Our message to NEET- UG 2026 candidates and their families is this: the hard work and integrity of the vast majority of candidates who are preparing with utmost sincerity and diligence are not being called into question, nor will their efforts be undermined,” the agency stated.

“This matter is currently under investigation, and the investigative agencies will bring the facts to light in due course. The NTA will not form any preconceived opinions regarding the outcome of this investigation, nor will it offer any comments regarding its potential consequences. Whatever conclusions the investigative agencies reach, including those that may necessitate further action, will be reviewed transparently and made public in accordance with established procedures,” the NTA said in a statement.
