Some People are Dreaming of Chaos: To strike a hard attack on Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that while the world is seeking a new order, there are some in the country who are “dreaming of chaos.”

Speaking at the inaugural session of the ‘NDTV World Summit 2026’ on Thursday, the Prime Minister questioned how long the Congress party would continue trying to launch a “failed product.”

During his keynote address at the summit, PM Modi described the Congress as a “parasite” that prevents others from progressing. He remarked that after losing power, the Congress has found the grapes so sour that it is now bent on destroying the entire vine.

In stern terms, the Prime Minister said, “While the entire world is in search of a new order, some people in India are dreaming of chaos. Today, when there is so much disorder globally, a strong image of India should be presented to the world; yet, these individuals are only interested in tarnishing the nation’s reputation. They go abroad to defame India and urge foreigners to intervene.”

Although the Prime Minister did not explicitly name the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, his subsequent remarks, which he has made in the past as well, made it clear who he was targeting.

He remarked, “It is baffling how long the Congress will continue to put the nation at stake in its persistent attempts to launch its ‘failed product.’ Even Sriharikota (Satish Dhawan Space Centre) does not see as many launches as the number of times the Congress has unsuccessfully tried to launch its leader. If the party wishes to ruin itself, that is its own affair; we have no issue with that.”

“But in order to shield one family from the stigma of failure, the Congress is now putting India’s achievements, its greatness, and its progress at stake. The grapes are so sour that the Congress is now intent on destroying the entire vine.” The Prime Minister remarked that the Nehru-Gandhi family has itself become a burden on the Congress. He claimed that even senior Congress leaders acknowledge this and discuss it privately with those in power.

The Prime Minister stated, “The voices of those who wish to oppose the government in a democratic manner are being stifled… We have witnessed in Parliament that young opposition MPs want to criticize the government, but the Congress party disrupts the proceedings, denying others an opportunity, all because the Congress wants to keep only one individual in the spotlight.”

He further added, “The Congress has become like a parasite that refuses to let anyone else succeed. ‘Urban Naxals’ (ideological Naxals) have taken such a firm grip on the Congress’s mind that the party has lost its own capacity to think or reason. Those who once wreaked havoc in our villages have now infiltrated the Congress and are bent on ruining the nation.”
