The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts a centralised admission process for over 120 renowned technical institutions across the country, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and several Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Admission to IITs is based on a candidate’s JEE-Advanced 2026 rank, whereas seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are allocated based on their JEE Main rank.

Through the JoSAA portal, candidates are required to register, fill in and lock their preferred institution-program combinations, participate in the seat allocation rounds, and complete the online reporting process once a seat has been allotted.
