According to the people mentioned in the news article, the IT ministry is focused on increasing employment opportunities in the country through initiatives such as employment-related incentives aimed at stimulating job creation in the Indian economy, while also stressing the importance of skilling and reskilling.

TCS Layoffs Announcement:

India’s largest IT company, TCS (a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions), on Sunday, July 27, 2025, announced that the TCS will reduce its workforce by 2% or about 12,000 in the financial year 2026. This information has been given in several media reports.

According to the latest reports, the layoffs will be focused on middle and senior management employees. The IT company’s employee strength as of the April-June quarter of the financial year 2025-26 was 6,13,069.

The PTI news agency quoted the official statement as saying that TCS said that the layoff move is part of a broader strategy to be “future ready” and focus on technological investments, AI development, market expansion, etc.
