SSC Chairman Admitted Mismanagement, But Said the Exam Will Not Be Cancelled

The SSC chairman on Monday ruled out the possibility of cancelling the exams. However, he indicated that a rescheduled exam could be held for candidates who did not get a “fair opportunity” due to disruptions during the original exam period.

SSC Chairman Admitted Mismanagement:

Though the chairman admitted to mismanagement, citing failure of computer system, mouse malfunction and allotment of remote exam centres to candidates, he also informed that the body has written to Eduquity Career Technologies – which was awarded the tender to conduct the exams – asking them to rectify the alleged lapses for the exams held from July 24 to August 1. “There is also a possibility of penalties for failures such as system crashes and hardware malfunctions,” the chairman said.

Despite growing demands from candidates to cancel the exam and change the vendor, Gopalakrishnan rejected both options. “Based on one exam, I cannot remove them. I will have to issue a new tender, which may take till December. How will I conduct the exams in the meantime?” he asked.
