This day marks the establishment of the IAF and since its inception, this force has been playing a vital role in maintaining the sovereignty and security of India. When this day was established, the IAF consisted of a handful of aircraft and personnel that supported the British Royal Air Force. India is celebrating the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force and the theme of the day is ‘IAF- Enabled, Empowered, Atmanirbhar’.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin along with several ministers attended the air show held in Chennai on Sunday as the chief guests of the Indian Air Force. Other notable dignitaries at the event held to mark IAF Day included Chief of the Air Force – Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, Tamil Nadu ministers and senior Air Force officials.
