Former Chief Minister of Haryana, Om Prakash Chautala, has Passed Away in Gurugram.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala died on Friday, December 20 in Gurugram at the age of 89. Om Prakash Chautala died of cardiac arrest, a party spokesperson told news agency PTI.
Om Prakash Chautala was last seen in public during the voting for the Haryana assembly elections, which took place on October 5 this year. He was seen at a polling booth in Chautala village in Sirsa.
Om Prakash Chautala, son of Chaudhary Devi Lal, who previously held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of India, was the seventh person to hold the post of Chief Minister of Haryana.
Chautala was sentenced to four years in jail by a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on May 27, 2022 in a 16-year-old disproportionate assets case and became the oldest inmate of Delhi’s Tihar jail at the age of 87. He was released in 2020. Chautala has three daughters and two sons, including Abhay Singh Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala.
Abhay Singh Chautala is an MLA from Ellenabad constituency of Haryana and has also been the Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Legislative Assembly from October 2014 to March 2019. Om Prakash Chautala’s grandson Dushyant Chautala is a leader of the Jannayak Janata Party and has served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana. He is also a former MP in the Lok Sabha from Hisar constituency.
