Demand for NEET UG Re Exam, Counseling Date and More: Supreme Court to Hear Petitions Today

NEET UG Re Exam: The Supreme Court will hear several petitions regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 result controversy today.
After the NEET results were declared on July 4, several students and other stakeholders approached the apex court seeking scrapping of grace marks given to 1563 students due to loss of exam time and more. Now all such petitions will be heard by the bench of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra on July 8.
In these petitions, some have alleged paper leak, some have sought cancellation of the entire examination and re-conduct of the medical entrance examination, some have sought an investigation into the conduct of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and And a lot more.
NEET UG 2024 counselling has been postponed. However, the Supreme Court had earlier ruled that NEET UG counselling should not be delayed and the counseling process should begin from July 6 as originally scheduled. Advocate Mathews J Nedumpara, appearing for the petitioners, had earlier requested the bench to stay the counseling process. However, the apex court refused this. “Let the counseling begin, we are not stopping the counselling,” the bench remarked.
