GATE 2024: IISc Bangalore Releases Revised Information Brochure; Check Exam Schedule

As per the revised schedule, GATE 2024 exam will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2024. The exam will be conducted on these dates in two sessions – Forenoon and Afternoon.

GATE 2024: The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc Bangalore) has released an information brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024. As per the new timeline, the registration will now start from August 30 and end on September 29.

The revised information brochure is available on the official website -gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

As per the revised schedule, GATE 2024 exam will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2024. The exam will be conducted on these dates in two sessions – Forenoon and Afternoon. The exam will be conducted in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT).

The admit cards for the exam will be available on January 3, 2024. GATE 2024 results will be declared on March 16, after which the score cards will be made available on the official website from March 23 to May 31.

There will be total 30 test papers. GATE 2024 will be in English and completely objective type. Types of questions include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. In a MCQ, out of the four options only one is correct. In MSQ, one or more of the four options is/are correct; and for NAT questions, the answer must be keyed in using the virtual calculator. Candidates should use only on-screen virtual calculator for their calculations.

Negative marking will be practiced for wrong answers; For MCQs carrying 1 mark, 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answer. Similarly, for MCQs carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers for MSQ and NAT questions. Also, there is no partial marking for any question.

Candidates are allowed to appear for only one or two test papers. Two-paper combinations must be selected from the list of given combinations. In case new two-paper combinations become available, candidates will be given an opportunity to modify their selection and choose test paper with non-conflicting schedule. However, candidates appearing for two test papers are required to fill only one application form.
