Delhi University Delhi Can Now Implement NEP at PG Level

Delhi University Delhi: Delhi University (DU) is undergoing notable reforms in line with the national education policy (NEP) at the PG level. It plans to introduce one-year-long electives alongside its existing four-year undergraduate program. This transition aims to provide students with more adaptability in their academic pursuits while aligning with NEP guidelines. DU is working on allowing both two-year and one-year master’s programs to coexist for a few years.
One of the key features of the suggested one-year postgraduate courses is their credit-based structure, allowing students to tailor their academic paths according to their interests and career goals.
Furthermore, DU is exploring the implementation of twinning programs in collaboration with foreign universities. Under these programs, DU students would have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester, accruing credits that contribute to their overall academic progression. This initiative reflects DU’s commitment to fostering global perspectives and enhancing the academic experiences of its students through international collaborations.
In terms of admissions, DU has established the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) PG entrance exam as a prerequisite for admission to PG programs.

By forming clusters of colleges to offer joint teaching in niche language courses, DU seeks to optimize resources and expand access to specialized education.
Additionally, DU has forged partnerships with 25 foreign universities to facilitate academic collaboration and exchange programs. These partnerships pave the way for the development of joint and twin degree programs, further enriching the academic landscape at DU and providing students with opportunities for global engagement and interdisciplinary learning.
