The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has invited applications for its newly launched Industry Fellowship Program (IFP) 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen the ties between academia and industry. The program seeks to provide faculty members with practical industry experience, enabling them to better align classroom instruction with the evolving needs of the workforce.

Under this fellowship, selected faculty members from AICTE-approved institutions will have the opportunity to work directly with various industries across rapidly growing sectors for a period of one year. The application process is currently underway, and the selected fellows are scheduled to commence their industry immersion on July 20, 2026.

Application Portal for the Industry Fellowship Program

The application portal for the Industry Fellowship Program is now open. Interested candidates may submit their applications online until June 25, 2026. This fellowship will span one year, commencing on July 20, 2026.

Under this program, fellows will receive a monthly financial stipend of ₹100,000. Of this amount, AICTE will contribute ₹75,000 per month, while the partner industry will contribute a minimum of ₹25,000 per month. For the 2026 cycle, AICTE has collaborated with several major companies, including Tata Consumer Products Limited, Hero MotoCorp Limited, and Volvo. Altogether, these organisations are providing 134 fellowship positions.

AICTE Industry Fellowship Program 2026: Eligibility

Applicant’s age should be 50 years or less by May 26, 2026. Candidates must also have a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience at an AICTE-approved institution. Besides these conditions, applicants need to meet at least one extra eligibility requirement.

These include passing national or state-level exams like GATE, GRE, CAT, MAT, JRF, SRF, or NET; having at least five research papers published in Scopus or Web of Science-indexed journals; heading government-funded research projects valued at a minimum of ₹15 lakhs; or being granted scientific or academic awards acknowledged by government agencies or universities.
