PM Narendra Modi Pledges Strict Laws on Crimes Against Women
Speaking at the Lakhpati Didi rally attended by women members of self-help groups earning ₹1 lakh annually in Jalgaon in north Maharashtra
On August 25, PM Narendra Modi announced that his government is strengthening laws to enforce harsher penalties for crimes committed against women. I assure you that the Central Government fully supports the State Governments in all efforts to stop atrocities against women.
While in Jalgaon, he interacted with Lakhpati Didis and inaugurated a revolving fund of ₹2,500 crore aimed at supporting 48 lakh members in 4.3 lakh self-help groups.
Speaking at the Lakhpati Didi rally attended by women members of self-help groups earning ₹1 lakh annually in Jalgaon in north Maharashtra, Mr Modi said his administration had done more for women in the last decade than all previous governments since independence.

Speaking at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur, PM Narendra Modi also referred to his Independence Day remarks on the ‘secular civil code’ and said the judiciary has been advocating it for decades.
