New Delhi: Just a day after the NEET-PG 2026 exam faced disruptions due to a power outage at two centers in Jaipur, the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026 also encountered power-related issues at the same locations. Consequently, AIIMS had to cancel the exam at these centers and reschedule it for September 7.
Just 24 hours after the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare formed a three-member panel to probe the earlier power failure in Jaipur, another glitch hit the AIIMS CRE exam at the TCS-run iON Digital Zone in Sitapura.
The exam started at 9:00 AM as planned, but faced disruptions at RJ0101 and RJ0102 due to internal power problems. AIIMS announced the cancellation of the test at these two locations to protect affected students and ensure fairness and integrity.
A total of 2,000 candidates had registered at both centers. Before the disruption, 1,342 candidates at RJ0101 and 436 at RJ0102 had already started the exam. The impacted candidates must now retake the test on September 7. AIIMS announced they are identifying proper exam centers in Jaipur to accommodate them together or in smaller groups.
On August 31, a total of 21,098 candidates were registered for the first shift of the CRE across the nation, with 16,193 attending the exam. With the exception of two Jaipur centers, testing proceeded as planned at all other venues. AIIMS has asked TCS for a detailed report on this incident. Furthermore, the exam service provider has been directed by AIIMS to secure all necessary system logs, CCTV footage, and control room communications so that a complete evaluation of the conditions causing the disruption can be made.
