The JoSAA 2026 counselling process started on June 2 at 5:00 PM. For the first time, IISc Bangalore will also participate in this national-level centralised counselling process for the allocation of seats across its four BTech programs.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will be participating in JoSAA 2026 for the very first time. Furthermore, the Institute will offer a total of four BTech courses this year, three of which are newly introduced. The three new BTech courses are:
| BTech in Aerospace Engineering |
| BTech in Materials Science and Engineering |
| BTech in Mechanics and Computing |
These programs will be available starting from the 2026-27 academic session. The fourth, and previously existing, BTech course that will be available is the BTech in Mathematics and Computing. This course has been running at IISc Bangalore since 2022.

IISC Bangalore BTech Admissions 2026 via JoSAA
IISc Bangalore will allocate seats to candidates through the JoSAA counseling process based on their JEE Advanced 2026 ranks. Until last year, the Institute conducted its own separate admission process for admissions into its sole BTech course, Mathematics and Computing.
The Eligibility Criteria for Admission Into the BTech Courses Based on JoSAA Counselling are as Follows:
Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria, which include their performance in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination as stipulated by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) regulations for admission to IITs; these regulations shall apply to the relevant academic year.
