An agreement has been signed between the Government of Bihar and BIT Mesra for BIT Patna to continue as an off-campus center until 2030. Rajesh Jain, Registrar of BIT-Mesra, stated that the original MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for establishing the BIT-Patna off-campus center was signed on December 17, 2005, for a period of 10 years, which expired on December 16, 2015.
He went on to say that this new agreement, signed Thursday, extends this arrangement retroactively, specifically from December 17, 2015, to December 16, 2030. In a statement, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) Vice-Chancellor Indranil Manna commented that this new partnership reflects the shared commitment of BIT Mesra and the Government of Bihar towards strengthening access to quality technical education within the state.

The statement further noted that future development plans for BIT-Patna were discussed, encompassing the expansion of academic infrastructure and the steps to be taken to facilitate the institute’s long-term growth.
