The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the scheduled date, 23rd January, for the JEE Mains Session 1 West Bengal exam has been deferred. Now, a revised date will be announced soon.

JEE Main Session 1 Official Notice

As per the official notice, Candidates from West Bengal had their JEE Main Session 1 exam date scheduled on 23rd January, but it will be rescheduled. Among the dates advertised in JEE Mains, a new revised date will be allotted to the candidates in the state of West Bengal.

Since there will be Saraswati Puja celebrations and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday on 23rd Jan, the students will be in a difficult spot, whether to indulge in celebrations or to attempt the important exam. Therefore, this intervention of rescheduling dates was required.

The Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the North-eastern region, Sukanta Majumdar, wrote to the secretary, Department of Higher Education, stating the fact that Netaji’s Birthday and Saraswati Puja will be celebrated that day, and thus requested to reschedule the exam. After careful consideration, the NTA (National Testing Agency) has accepted the request and decided to reschedule the dates.
