The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the revised schedule for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 on its official website, upsssc.gov.in. Approximately 35.42 lakh candidates have registered for the written examination this year.
Initially, the exam was scheduled to be held over three consecutive days, October 23, 24, and 25, 2026. However, according to the revised schedule, the UPSSSC PET 2026 will now be conducted on October 25, October 30, and November 1, 2026. Despite the change in dates, the shift timings for the exam remain unchanged.
The exam will be conducted in two shifts each day. The morning shift will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the afternoon shift will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates are advised to follow the revised schedule and prepare accordingly.

The UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 is conducted for candidates aspiring to fill Group B or Group C posts under the Uttar Pradesh government. It is a mandatory qualifying examination; passing it does not guarantee a job directly but makes candidates eligible to appear for subsequent recruitment exams. These include major recruitment exams for posts such as Lekhpal, Junior Assistant, and Village Development Officer (VDO).
The conducting body will issue a separate notification regarding the release of admit cards on the official portal in due course. Once the link is activated, candidates will be able to download their hall tickets using their login credentials.
The Commission has advised candidates to regularly check the official website for updates regarding the exam city slip, admit cards, and detailed exam guidelines. Additionally, once the admit card is issued, candidates should adhere to the shift timings specified on it.
