Shubman Gill becomes India’s Fifth Youngest Test Captain Ahead of England Tour 2025
The youngest captain, Shubman (A right-handed top-order batter) joins the list of former captains who have taken charge of the Indian Test team at a young age.

Shubman Gill (A right-handed top-order batter) was named captain of the Indian Test team after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming tour of England. India will take part in the five-match Test series starting June 20 in Leeds.
As expected for the past few weeks, Shubman will lead the team, while wicket-keeping batsman Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. At the age of 25, Shubman Gill has become the fifth-youngest captain to lead the Indian Test team in the history of men’s cricket.
