The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the notification regarding delay in RRB Group D Recruitment 2026. The application process has been postponed for Group D vacancies across the railway departments. There were around 22000 vacancies announced in the railway zones and departments.
Now, as per the new schedule, the online registration process will begin from 31st January, 2026. Earlier, the online registration process was about to begin on 21st January 2026.
The last date to submit applications is 2nd March 2026. The recruitment process will be held as part of the Centralised Employment Notification No. 09/2025.
Candidates must apply and fill the applications through the website, rrbapply.gov.in. Amidst the 22000 vacancies, the Engineering department has 12,500 vacancies; Track maintainer Grade 4 has 11000 posts/vacancies. There are various other posts – Traffic point B – 5000 vacancies, Assistant (S&T) – 1500 vacancies, Assistant (C&W) – 1000 vacancies, Assistant (TRD) – 800, Assistant (Track Machine) and Assistant (Bridge) – 600, Assistant (P-Way) – 300, Assistant Operation – 500, and Assistant Loco Sheet – 200.
The Application fee for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 General/OBC/EWS Candidates is Rs 500.
Candidates can appear only for 1 RRB. Multiple applications for different railways would be rejected. However, candidates can apply for multiple posts through a single application form within the same railway board. The selection pattern is a CBT exam, which is conducted for 90 minutes. It comprises 100 questions. Each question carries a positive 1 mark, while each wrong answer gets 1/3rd negative mark.
