Iran Rejects US’s 15-Point Plan to End West Asia War: According to reports from Tehran’s state-run media, Iran on Wednesday rejected the United States‘ 15-point peace proposal aimed at ending the war in West Asia. Instead, it issued its own 5-point ceasefire proposal, which includes demands for war reparations and sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Press TV cited a senior political-security official as stating that Tehran insists the conflict will end only on its own terms and according to its own timeline. The official was quoted as saying, “Iran will end the war only when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met.” This report comes after Pakistan had conveyed the US proposal to Iran.

Iran Proposed 5 Conditions to End the War

Guaranteed compensation and reparations for damages incurred during the war
End to aggression and assassinations.
Concrete guarantees ensuring that war is not waged against Tehran again
An end to the war against Iran and against all resistance groups throughout the region
International recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran Considers Peace Proposals to End West Asia War

Israel-Iran War

According to a Reuters report, Iran had previously stated that it received a peace proposal from the United States via Pakistan to end the West Asia War. Separately, an official in Tehran noted that “friendly nations” are working to pave the way for negotiations. A senior Iranian official told Reuters on Wednesday that Pakistan or Turkey could serve as potential venues for discussions aimed at de-escalating the conflict in the Gulf region. Thousands of people have been killed in this war, and a vast expanse of land and buildings has been devastated.

These comments, made on the condition of anonymity, were among the rare signals indicating that Tehran might consider diplomatic proposals, even as it has publicly insisted that no talks are underway and that it will not reach any agreement with President Donald Trump’s administration.
