Delhi Election Result 2025: Supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi were seen dancing to the beats of dhols outside the party headquarters. According to trends, the BJP seems to be making a strong comeback today, as it has crossed the majority mark with over 40 seats. The vote counting for the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025 began at 8 a.m. Meanwhile, there is silence outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office. The stage is set, but the chairs are empty.
Tension among AAP party workers in view of the results has dampened the enthusiasm. Speaking to NDTV, AAP leaders Jasmine Shah and Anurag Dhanda said that this was the toughest battle AAP has ever fought, as it was fighting not only against two major political parties but also against the “corrupt system”. However, both leaders exuded confidence of winning by a “comfortable margin”.
The AAP first came to power in Delhi in 2013 by winning 28 seats, but the government lasted just 49 days. The party won a record 67 seats in the 2015 elections. In the 2020 elections, the Aam Adamy Party (APP) won 62 seats.
Among the heavyweights, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is trailing in the Kalkaji constituency against the BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri. AAP’s Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain are trailing in the Jangpura and Shakur Basti constituencies. On the other hand, BJP’s Kailash Gehlot and Gopal Rai are leading in Bijwasan and Karawal Nagar constituencies.
