Government of India launched a Special Coin of Rs 75 on the Occasion of the Inauguration of the New Parliament House

Government of India launched a Special Coin: To mark the inauguration of the new Parliament House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (May 28) released a commemorative coin of Rs 75 denomination.

In a notification issued on Thursday (May 25), the Finance Ministry was the first to announce the launch of the coin. “Seventy-five rupees denomination coin will be struck at the mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Parliament House,” it said.

The Government of India has issued special coins on various occasions to commemorate important events and to honor eminent personalities. 1. Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi:

In 2019, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, the Indian government released a special Rs.150 coin to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation. The coin featured the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on one side and the Ashoka Pillar Lion Capital on the other.

2. Mother Teresa’s Birth Centenary:

In 2010, the Indian government released a special Rs.5 coin to honour Mother Teresa on her birthday. The coin depicted the portrait of Mother Teresa along with the inscription ‘Birth Centenary of Mother Teresa’ in English and Hindi.

3. 75th anniversary of Dandi March:

In 2005, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the historic Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian government issued a special Rs.5 coin. The coin featured the Salt Satyagraha logo on one side and the Ashoka Pillar Lion Capital on the other.

4. 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda:

In 2013, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary, the Indian government released a special Rs.5 coin. The coin depicted the portrait of Swami Vivekananda with the inscription ‘150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda‘ in both Hindi and English.
